This is a Jatukam style designed Buddha amulet made of solid copper. This Thai amulet was created for Wat Mahathat Temple in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, in Southern Thailand. There is an arrangement of two and four unblossomed lotus flowers on the front on the outside of the amulet, surrounding Buddha.
On the reverse is a large Rahu demon in the center of the amulet, eating the moon (or Sun, as he does occasionally). The Chinese zodiac animals are represented, in a circle surrounding Rahu. On the outer edge is Pali writing of magical incantations for protection.
