Description
This is a solid silver pendant of Buddha in a Jatukam Ramathep style, round with sacred yant (yan) on the reverse side.
The reverse side has an involved yan design with star patterns, Pali script, Chinese zodiac animal symbols, and the Wat Mahathat chedi in the center - from Southern Thailand’s most well known temple with 1,000 year old buildings, Nakhon Si Thammarat.
We have one or two of these collector’s pendants and haven’t seen any more at the temple for at least two years. Once Thais buy these, they hold onto them. We usually only see them after someone passes and they have no descendants - sometimes they are given back to the temple.
