Description
This is a solid bronze pendant featuring Siddhartha Buddha in a Jatukam Ramathep style, round shape and with sacred geometrical yant (yan) on the reverse side. This pendant is part of a series that includes different colors, solid silver, and a black print on silver amulet. This series was released in year 2007 and caused a major stir in the Thai community.
The reverse side has an intricately designed yan design with star patterns, Pali script, Chinese zodiac animal symbols, and the Wat Mahathat chedi in the center - from Nakhon Si Thammarat. This is common for Jatukam style amulets.
We have just one of these collector’s pendants and haven’t seen any more at the temple for around three years. Once Thais buy these - especially buying the entire series - they hold onto them. We usually only see them after someone passes and they have no descendants - sometimes they are given back to the temple.
