Description

The A, B, C of Buddhism | The Meditative Development of Mindfulness of Breathing | The Discourse of Mindfulness of Breathing is a short book of 74 pages covering the topics mentioned in the title. This is one of those must-own books by Buddhadasa Bhikkhu from Suan Mokkh Forest Monestary.

This is one of the books my husband read during his meditation practice that helped him go far along the path. You can read more about that here.

Buddhadasa was a monk who revived the forest tradition in southern Thailand when nobody else was doing so. Ajahn Chah did it in the northeast and Ajahn Buddhadasa did it from his forest temple in Chaiya subdistrict of Suratthani called “Suan Mokkhabalaram” or just “Suan Mokkh.”

Wat Suan Mokkh is where the International Dhamma Hermitage is located for foreign and Thai meditators to take 10-day silent meditation retreats. It’s actually across the highway and down a country road for 1 km. Thousands of people from across the globe have come to experience this life-changing meditation retreat.

This book covers mindfulness quite well and also one of the suttas on Anapanasati.

This is one of the most informative books ever published on the simple tenets of Buddhism, and mindfulness of breathing.

We have just one copy of this book from Wat Suan Mokkh temple, purchased years ago. The cover looks only very slightly worn. You can find this book online for free as a PDF below, or you can purchase a paperback copy we will mail you from Thailand.
