This is a small solid silver Sothorn Buddha amulet with a bright blue ceramic glaze background with eyelet for a necklace. This one now sold out.

We just created an entire page to reach our Singapore buyers of Thailand amulets. We are going to try to focus more on helping buyers from this tiny country this year. In the past we didn’t realize just how many Buddhists were there!

Singapore Amulet Buyers >

This article addresses some things that buyers of Thai amulets living in Singapore will find interesting!

Update: We have since been to Singapore and saw some of the amulets on the market. We think the prices are outrageous, but I guess that’s what most people prefer, is buying on-site. We offer significant savings for real amulets from Thailand – I hope you have a look at our main shop to see if there’s anything you might want.

Phra Somdej Toh Thai Amulets in Thailand

Meditating Buddha Somdej Toh AmuletIf there is one venerable monk that has even more followers than all the other monks – it is Thailand’s most respected monk, Phra Somdej Toh.

HERE are our SOMDEJ TOH Petrified Wood Amulets (nobody else has – unless we sold to them!)

Phra Somdej Toh is from a temple called, “Wat Rakhang Kositararm” His Thai amulets are so revered that nearly everyone that takes amulets seriously in Thailand has one good one – meaning, one expensive Somdej amulet that is full of power and good luck, protection for the wearer of this amulet.

In full, this monk’s name reads – “Somdej Phra Puttajarn Toh Phrom-rangsri” and some people for short will call him “Somdej Toh” which is also respectful (and easier to remember). Somdej Toh is a son of one of Thailand’s royalty, King Rama the 2nd and mother, Nang Ngud which lived in the Thailand province of Kamphangpet.

Somdej Toh was born before his father became the King of Thailand. At the early age of 13 Somdej took the vowels of monkhood and became a monk (boo-ut, in Thai). At the age of twenty-one he became a senior monk who was very keen with Buddhist teachings. He was given the name “Maha Toh”, or, “King’s monk”. Some people still refer to his sacred Thai amulets by this same name.

After his father was King he received the wat Rakang Kositaram during King Rama IV. Somdej moved up through the ranks and finally received the ultimate title of Somdej Phra Puttajarn Toh in the year of 1872. This meant he was at the highest level of monkhood.

Soon after this Phra Somdej began making his own style of Thai Buddha amulets during year of the Buddha 2406 for about nine years (1863 to 1872 in western years). These amulets became very famous and were called “Somdej Wat Rakhang” Buddhist amulets. Today these amulets fetch extremely high prices in the millions of Thai Baht.

Originally the Somdej amulets were made by hand by this respected monk. Eventually molds were made for the amulet styles and the first batch were not that well made so a goldsmith for the King created new molds which worked much better and became the standard for all the amulets.

In his life time, Somdej Toh made around 84,000 Phra Somdej amulets.

There are many varied substances that went into making these famous amulets. Some of them were: lime (from crushed seashells), Phong Vises (sacred powder of unknown origin), flower leaves, rice bits, luts, ashes from cremated urns, honey, and later – tang oil on the advice of a palatial goldsmith- which made the surface beautiful.

Phra Somdej was and excellent orator and with high intelligence. He was a very compassionate monk, and was known to go out of his way for people that he could help. Phra Somdej didn’t stop at just the one version of Thai amulet – he created 73 different styles of amulet!

As far as Thai amulets go in Thailand there is none more famous, more widely known across the globe, and none more powerful than the Somdeg Wat Rakhang amulets he originally made so many years ago. There are whole businesses in Bangkok built around these amulets and nearly every Thai Buddhist that wears amulets has a Phra Somdej replica at least because it’s the most respected and powerful of all the clay, metal, or any substance amulets.

Somdej’s amulets were given greater power by the recitation of chants he said while in the presence of the amulets he made. The chants he used were enormously powerful and he learned them from the great Buddhist monks of the past.

It is said that Phra Somdej’s amulets are very powerful – and keep their power forever because of the technique he learned for filling them with power…

First the sacred yan numbers were applied – then the katha (chants) were said over and over and the last part is the meditation – which many monks neglect to do n these times. These amulets hold their power nearly forever – it is very hard for them to lose their strength and virility.

It is said that Phra Somdej Toh made the amulets to help the world come to know Buddhism and to give good karma for the world, not himself. Keepers of the amulets today receive many blessings because Somdej didn’t act selfishly when making the amulets.

If you can find yourself an original Somdej amulet today you are assured great fortune and protection from every evil. These are the highest class amulets that exist in Thailand today. Some of the amulets are for sale at the amulet market by the river in Bangkok. Others are held by private interests and are not for sale. High level politicians, policemen, and movie stars in Thailand own original Phra Somdej Toh amulets.

We hope you enjoyed that overview of the highest class amulets you can buy in Thailand.

This is an exceptional find we got lucky to find. It was on the shelf behind all the other amulets and other Buddhist items. We overlooked it on the first pass, but we usually look 2-3 times to make sure we don't miss anything. This was on the 3rd pass we saw it and couldn't believe it. This is a very nicely done carved stone Buddha. Not sure the stone type, it could be jade or some other very heavy stone. This is just about 5-6 inches high and would be a great addition to anyone's Buddhist altar. From Wat Tum Sua, Southern Thailand. This is a one of a kind and we cannot find more. Never saw one like this. Before we put it at the website we'll only ask $295.95 if someone wants it quickly. Comes with free amulet, necklace, bracelets, and shipping worldwide.

Adding New Products at Our New Amulet Site

New Thai amulet product page on revised, mobile compliant website, ThaiAmuletSales.com.

We have been updating, revising, shooting photos, writing copy, and getting everything ready for the new Thai Amulet Sales site which went live yesterday. We were just adding products and realized the number of great features the new site has.

If you use the site now, you can choose any of the links off the home page and they will take you to Thai amulet pages that have our old inventory displayed. So, most of what you have found in the past is still on this new site, but we’ll be phasing out those pages over time.

Today we are adding new content, some of the amulets, necklaces, and bracelets are entirely new. We’re excited to finally be adding new amulet products to the site that we’ve had in some cases, for years already – but nobody knew!

If you click the SHOPPING MALL link in the upper right side of the new site you can see our current inventory in the new system. You can shop for amulets and other Buddhist items by photo, sort by price, and search by categories or tags. We only have about 30 necklaces and 5 amulets in there now, but we’re adding more every day. We have nearly 1,000 products to offer now, so it will be a few weeks before we’re fully up to date.

We are ready for 2015. We are also excited to announce that we’ve begun ramping up some of our other amulet and meditation sites for this new year. More changes coming, and hopefully you’ll find some Buddhas, Kwan Yins, Ganesha, and other monk items you haven’t seen before.

If you have any suggestions about what you would like to see more of, do let us know.

:)

With Metta,

JOY B. :P

Sometimes when we have a sale we prefer not to make the html pages and change the site with all the information. It’s so much faster and easier just to announce the sale at the blog (http://www.thaiamuletsales.com/blog/) because all we have to do is type it up and “publish” the post by hitting a button. With the website, it is much more difficult.

The problem is, not too many people see the sale when we announce it only on the blog!

So, now you can sign up on the page below and you will be notified of any sales and other important information we have about new products and sales we have.

Thai Amulets For Sale – Continuing Our Store!

Our end of the year holiday sale with 50% off amulets under $100 and 30% off amulets over $100 has finished. It was a big success, and we hope to repeat it next year. It will depend if we have Thai amulets in similar numbers as we had this year. We just still have so many extras that we should sell before we go buy more at the Buddhist temples around our home.

If you want to buy Buddha or monk, goddess amulets in bulk – contact us. We can make special deals if you want 3-4 amulets at a time, or 10-20, 100 amulets  at a time – even better. Selling amulets online is a good online business if you get them for about cost and are able to sell them for just over like we do. You know there are amulet vendors selling amulets at a couple thousand percent markup. That’s the sick state of things, but it happens often on Ebay and some other online marketplaces.

If you are visiting Thailand in the near future, we suggest you don’t buy any amulets from us, just buy them yourself at the temples when you visit. You will probably find something you like, and if you don’t you can always buy something from our site here when you get back home, or before you leave.

We have had another amazing year for 2013. We’ve sold more amulets than any other year, and we hope 2014 gives similar results.

Remember, if you want to buy bulk amulets or necklaces, bracelets, anything we sell, just let us know and we’ll see if we can get the items you require in some bulk. Please note – we can never get more than 10-50 of any one style of pendant / amulet. The temples just don’t have all that many usually.

As we come into 2014, Buddhism will probably become a very important part of people’s lives across the globe. As the world falls deeper into economic collapse, threats of war and disputes – even religious ones, people search out answers Buddhism gives them.

If you are considering learning about Buddhism and meditating. You should consider coming to Thailand and getting your information about Theravada Buddhism from one of the great sources here – the Buddhist monks at Wat Pah Nanachat in Warin Chamrap, or at Wat Suan Mokkh in Chaiya province, in Thailand’s South.

Best of life to you in 2014!

Metta and goodwill,

V & J

Buddhist Christmas Gifts and Tree Ornaments?

There are a lot of Buddhists that celebrate Christmas across the globe. We are probably going to do the same with our daughter. It’s just not right to not celebrate something when December 25th rolls around. So, whether you have a Buddhist Christmas tree (Buddhamas tree?) or not, we’ll be posting some gifts you can give during the Christmas holidays to your Buddhist friends.

We have found clips to hang Buddhist amulets on your tree! Here’s a gold Buddha amulet in Jatukam style, with the silver clip. We can also get the gold clips – you can specify which color you want. With the amulets that are over $50, we can give you the clips for free!

Here is the perfect gift for Christmas for Buddhists on your shopping list. Buddha Christmas Tree ornaments!

We also have the amulet above in white if you prefer. The price is, I think, $89.95 or 99.95, must check that and get it straight. It is one of our best-selling ornamental Buddhas during the holidays.

Here is another multi-colored Buddha amulet in Jatukam style. This ornament is larger than nearly all of our other amulets, and makes the IDEAL Buddha ornament for your Christmas tree. The size across (diameter) is: 2 1/8 inches. That will sell for $99.95. We also have a smaller version of this one at 1 1/2 inches in diameter, and that one sells for just $59.95.

This is a 2 1/8 inch across Buddha amulet that makes an ideal hanging ornament for your Christmas tree. Order now, we have only a few of these.

Sell Thai Amulets in Malaysia – Kuala Lumpur

We have high visitor traffic coming from Malaysia. Every month Malaysia gives us our third highest numbers of visitors to our Buddhist amulet sites. But, Malaysia ranks about 30th of countries in the amount of amulets we sell to them.

If you are a resident of Malaysia and you want to start a Thai Amulet business – we can help. We need an agent that is living in Kuala Lumpur, to help us sell our amulets. You will get the benefit of having your location listed at our websites – so people in KL and surrounding areas will come straight to you for what they need. You can show them the amulets you have, and, if they need to see more, show them our website so they can choose something. Once they do, take a deposit, send it to us, we’ll send you the amulet, the customer pays, you send us the rest of what we’re do. You keep commission.

Easy – right?

Hopefully someone in Malaysia sees this post and decides it would be worthwhile to see if it works.

If you want to team up with us on this, contact us by email and tell us what you want to do. Do you have a jewelery shop in KL and you want to add authentic Buddhist amulets from the temples in Thailand to your inventory? Do you want to start up just an amulet business where people can meet with you and see your collection, pay you for them, and you re-order from us as you need them?

We can help.

See, the problem is, shipping to Malaysia is not always secure for some reason. We’ve lost a couple of packages more than we should have when shipping from Thailand to Malaysia. More than any other country actually. That, and, it can sometimes take 22 days to ship a small box of Buddha amulets from Thailand to Malaysia. Why so long? We have no idea. The post offices of Thailand and Malaysia are maybe not cooperating well on this. No idea.

The result is sometimes a bad experience for amulet buyers in Malaysia that buy online from us. We always make it right, but it can take time to figure out what happened and to resend items or refund purchases. Not a great way to do business.

So, we need someone who is living in Kuala Lumpur, that wants to setup an amulet stand in a major mall, or just a tiny shop somewhere. We can put the address on our site to send people to you directly. You can sell amulets we send you – for profit.

If this sounds like something you want to do – selling Thai Buddha amulets and other Buddhist items like Kwan Yin, Ganesha, Luang Phor Tuad, etc., then just let us know and we’ll see if we can work something out.

You must have some money to buy the first batch of amulets, we cannot fund you on our own without knowing you personally.

Thank you for your time!

Jatukam Amulets are Going Fast

We had no idea what a great response we were going to have when we decided to offer a discount on all amulet (and anything) orders at ThaiAmuletSales.com over one hundred dollars USD. The response has been overwhelming and we’ve been packing amulets for the past five days. We have sent more Jatukam amulets out in the mail to Singapore, Malaysia, USA, Australia, and Canada than we have ever before. We don’t have all that many left, and that is a bit distressing because we bought most of the good amulets from the source – Nakhon Si Thammarat’s Wat Mahathat temple, and they don’t have many good ones left.

Looks like we will have to make another trip over to find some more Jatukam-style round amulets if we can.

What I am surprised at, is that our high-end Jatukams are still not selling. Amulets over $130, and $200 are just not selling like I thought they would. Seems to me amulet collectors and those that were serious about Buddhism, would be buying these solid silver amulets not only for their collectible value, but for their life-long value. You can give these to loved ones as gifts, or bequeath them in a will. The solid silver amulets are exceptionally nice and will last forever. Some of the gold-plated amulets will discolor like every gold-plated item in the world does after a few years, or sooner in humid climates.

If you are interested in premium (our best) Jatukam Ramathep, Khun Pan (Kun Paen), or Buddha amulets in the Jatukam (round) style, do let us know. We’ll put together a photo of some of those we consider the best we have. These are also on sale during this special offer – and orders over $500 enjoy 40% savings. We just don’t think we’ll be having this same sort of discount offer ever again.

So, get your premium gold, silver, bronze, stainless, copper amulets while you can at a great discount. See our store at: www.ThaiAmuletSales.com.
