Lately, well, the last couple of years, we have had a number of buyers from the USA, Australia, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong who bought single Thai amulets over $500 USD, or groups of amulets over $1,000 USD. Buddha, Jatukam, and Luang Phor Tuad seem to be the most popular higher priced amulets.
In the past we have not purchased many high-end amulets that will cost over $300 or so. There are a couple of reasons, one of which is that the Buddhist temples here in Thailand don’t sell many of those high-priced amulets, and so their availability is limited. This happened with Jatukam amulets especially. We bought all the good Jatukam Ramathep amulets we could find at the main temple where they are made, and now there are very few to find every trip.
Anyway, with any amulet over $500 we are afraid to buy it because we just don’t know how long we will have to keep it in stock before someone buys it. There are so many beautiful amulets between $500 and $1,000 that we could purchase – but we need to know exactly what you want so we have a good idea that we’ll be able to sell them once we buy them.
If you are a Buddha amulet collector, or if you would just like to buy a couple of great amulets that you won’t be able to find on your own, let us know.
Ideally we need to know exactly what you want – Buddha? Jatukam? Sothorn Buddha? Chinnarat Buddha? Size. Case type – waterproof, stainless steel traditional? Stainless ornately designed? Solid silver ornate? Gold traditional? Etc. If you contact us to help you find something that really is custom and what you want, please be ready to tell us all of these variables so we can find exactly what you want.
Price? We need to know how much you are willing to pay. I think if you’re paying under $2,000 we can help you. If you want to pay much more than that, I think it would be much better if you come to Thailand directly yourself and purchase an amulet like that.
How we like to work it is once we have all your requirements for the amulets we will tell you the day we are going to the temple to look for you. When we are there we can send you individual photos of the amulets and tell you what they would cost. Recently we did this for one of our premium amulet buyers located in Indonesia and I think it worked well. You would have to be available by email during the time we are at the temple, so keep in mind we’re 12-13 hours ahead of USA time, and less behind most other places.
So we can show you a couple amulets and give you the prices and you can choose from them. If you want one of the amulets you can send Paypal right away and we’ll see it through email on our phone and purhase the amulet for you right away. Or, you can send Western Union within 24 hours and we will come back and pick it up for you.
This seems to be the best way to work it. We’ve helped about a dozen amulet buyers make big purchases like this and haven’t had any problems.
