We were lucky enough to find a limited number of these highly detailed
and very rare, "Sothorn
Buddha" Thai Amulets from one of our favorite temples in southern Thailand.
In fact, we were very lucky to find this amulet at all because it was in
a place we have never looked before for amulets at the temple. It's
appropriate that this is a number 9, lucky Thai amulet - as we were VERY
lucky to find it!
Now you're lucky to be able to own one of very few of these limited
edition amulets ever made (100).
This Thai amulet is solid copper and will last forever. Yes, the color
will change over time like every piece of pure copper you have ever
seen. It's the natural progression of things. Perhaps this is why Thai
amulets are nearly always made of copper, brass, and bronze... they all
change colors with time - showing the natural evolution of life, of
nature...

Translation of Sothorn Buddha amulet: This Buddha image
is known to Buddhists as the Sothorn
Buddha, meaning, 3 Buddhas in one body. More specifically, meaning -
Buddha, Sangha, and Dhamma in one.
On the front of the amulet it says at the bottom - Phra Si Gayamuni
(name of monk creating the amulet design) - Nakhon si Thammarat (place)
On the reverse - 2552 - year the amulet was made.
Top reverse - "Noppharat Sangwan" which is the name of the amulet
according to the monk that named it. It means, 9 Pendant. The number 9
in Thailand is sacred as lucky - and used for many lucky things. Thais,
for instance, pay a lot of money for phone numbers or license plates
with 999's in them.
Bottom reverse - "Wat Phra Mahathat, Nakhon si Thammarat" - temple name,
and city.
The image on the reverse is an open lotus flower with nine points of
importance... corresponding to the points that are hard to see with the
image I sent, but are points on the back. The lotus is used in many
Buddhist amulets.
This amulet is for luck and safety for the wearer. We are putting a
limit of 2 per customer on this amulet, as we have a very limited supply
and they are not renewable. Once gone - there are no more for sale at
the temple.
