Saturday Buddhist Birthday Pendant
This is the Buddhist amulet
representing a day of birth on Saturday. Buddha is sitting in a
meditation position in this amulet, and there are a number of naga
(serpents, or cobras) in back of him - outlining his head.
This is a very beautiful amulet
- despite the lack of detail seen in this photo - it's a very detailed
and clear amulet! We'll have to retake this photo.
This amulet comes from north of Wat
Tum Sua at a temple we rarely visit. We bought 3 each of these day of
birth amulets and we'll go back for more if we sell them. I think there
are 2 of these left at present. Order now if you want this one because
we may not get it in again.
Many people buy the amulets that they
like - instead of the day of the week born on. There is no harm there -
and some Thais do it too.
Again, this is the FRIDAY birthday amulet -
each Buddha is different depending on the day of the birth. The Buddha
is in different positions.
